Jani Sovdat is an up-and-coming producer from Slovenia that has few unreleased remixes under his belt which are full of potential. I came across his rework of Blaze’s ‘My Beat’, and I digged it instantly. It can be used as great opening track to a set or mix, or even to start off a night. Jani used infectious bassline to carry the track, and being a sucker that I am for hi-hats recently, this track is right down my alley. Check it out!

Grande Luciano! DanceTrippin TV uploaded their latest DJ video/audio set, and it is MASSIVE! Luciano brings the warm deep tribal & tech house sounds at his own Cadenza label party in Ushuaia, Ibiza. This is the kind of techno I got addicted to lately, driven by filthy basslines and full of melodies that don’t let your body rest. I always admired Luciano and enjoyed his releases, but after I saw him live with Loco Dice at Detroit Electronic Music Festival, he really caught my attention and I got hooked instantly. It gives you a different kind of appreciation when you witness this style banged out in front of thousands and thousands of people dancing and screaming for more. DanceTrippin outdid themselves with this one, keep up the good work fellas!

boatcruise

What a weekend I just had! Friday’s boat cruise that Alan and myself put together went extremly well. The only thing that stood in our way was bad weather for the first hour or so, but once the rain cleared up, sun broke through and we had beautiful scenery of the Detroit River and city itself. This picture speaks for itself, and that is without any photoshopped effects or editing. Here are the rest of the pictures to check out if you’d like, big thank you to my good friend Amin Beydoun for taking such tremendous photos. Deejays were on point, I had to regularly rotate between two floors to ensure everything ran smoothly so I did catch majority of their sets, and let me tell you, the boys tore it up! Was well impressed. After party was off the hook too, Alan and myself set the energy high with our track selection, here are couple of videos from the Boom Boom Room club when I was spinning: Video 1 and Video 2. :)

I’m running out of time here, so I’ll make the following short. Good friend and local resident DJ Matt Herdman uploaded his latest chart on Beatport and it is full of insane tracks. Very quality releases, really looking forward to direction where Matt’s heading. You can view the chart by clicking here.

And finally, Carlo Lio came out today with 2 brand new tracks and they are worth supporting. Quality, quality release, highly recommended!

Insanity. A good friend of mine pointed me towards this mix featuring Luciano and Christiano going back to back for 5 hours straight, they go on for about an hour each. Christiano is a resident deejay at ‘Kama, Kama’, recongized for his deep funky house style, meanwhile Luciano does what he does best, and that is to make us dance via his latin-induced beats and addictive basslines. Quality set. If you want to fast forward to Luciano’s part, go to 102 minutes mark. ‘Don’t be alarmed, remain calm – Do not attempt to leave the dance floor – The DJ booth is conducting a troubleshoot test of the entire system. Somehow while the party was in progress, an unidentified frequency has been existing in the system for some time…’.
