mattherdman

I wanted to share this 30 minute promo mix which Windsor’s Matt Herdman won Dubfire’s contest with, and was awarded the opportunity to open for him during Sci+Tek Party during Winter Music Conference. I am really excited about this one, it is beautifully put together and really showcases Matt’s talent and drive towards downbeat minimal, techy sound! Beatportal had a chance to catch up with Matt in Miami and conduct an interview which can be read by clicking here. We wish him the best of luck in the future and in the meantime enjoy the mix, folks. :)

Matt Herdman – Mix for Sci-Tek Contest

firemario

I wanted to keep this trend of tribal/jungle/minimal theme going, so I wanted to share this tune with you today. Radio Slave is at it again, this time taking less melodic approach and instead going for hypnoziting and groovy beat that is driven by a strong bassline and nice drumming effects. I am impressed by what Mr. Edwards has been doing lately in terms of delivering his trademark touch on techno releases and we hope to see him going strong for long time to come. :)

michelcleis

I’m a sucker for minimal tunes with enchanting melodies. Michel Cleis‘ ‘La Mezcla’ borrows Timbaland’s ‘Indian Flute’, who recycled old Colombian track entitled ‘Curura’ originally performed by Totó la Momposina. Perfect example to show how music concepts travel through generations and inspire different genres. Mind you, Michel Cleis re-worked monster tune that’s reminiscent of Danny Fido’s ‘Points’ and Radio Slave’s ‘Koma Koma’. This one will be a banger certainly for a long time ahead.

manzonestrong

The boys are back with their newest live recording inside Toronto’s ‘This Is London’ nightclub! I’m used to the energy they’re known to bring right from the start with their hard-pounding techno, so it’s nice to see that they switched up a little bit and decided to build up the set. If you are going to be in Miami for the Winter Music Conference, make sure to check them out, their schedule can be found by clicking here.

Also big shout-out goes to good friend and Windsor’s own Matt Herdman who was announced as the winner of Dubfire’s Beatport contest. Congratulations brother, keep on making us proud and representing good old ‘W’!

Manzone & Strong – Live At This Is London (February 2009)

romanthony

This is a fan-made edit of two classics with brilliant outcome. Simple, effective, and audio layers blend in very smoothly creating a funky vibe. This is the description from the guy who reworked the tune: “This is something I did a few months ago for fun and turned out to be a really useful tool.. it’s just the vocal of Romanthony layed on top of Mountain People n’3 beats with a few effects and edits… very simple but does the job well!”. Does the job well indeed; even saw couple big name DJs play it during their sets! Enjoy.

entonmushi

Enton and myself decided we would share these tracks with you. They are both mastered and ready to go. I have received quite good feedback on ‘Pizza Pop’ and promised posting full version once it’s out. We figured since this is the beginning of a long journey in production world for both of us, first few tracks would be given to readers and fans as a token of appreciation for all your support. You can be assured there will be plenty more to come and it only gets better with time. ;)

There aren’t many(if any) quality wallpaper sources on the web so I decided to present you with another one. Mind you, desktop designs do get lot of regular hits on here and “techno wallpapers” often end up searched through Google and WordPress. Today’s artwork  is one of the Godfathers of Techno music, none other than Mr. Saunderson himself. I don’t think he needs any introduction, the man is a revolutionary figure who helped put Detroit scene on the map and still to this day is one of the most respected and innovative legends to ever grace the decks.

One day sooner than later I will be moving to Ibiza folks! I just came across this video today, and holy fucking shit, I’m getting goosebumps watching it. This is the very first video posted on ‘Feeling Mnml’ so you can bet it’s driving me insane! Can anyone identify 2nd track with that heavy bassline? Or even better, knows how to rip audio so I can post it here? I can’t recall last time I had this much adrenaline rushing through my body, the power of listening to music that gets you moving is priceless. Wow, this just made my night, weekend better hurry up! ;)

claude

Here is another monster tune which I purchased on Beatport and will feature it on my upcoming promo mix. This is what you get when you mix one of the Godfathers of techno with another brilliant artist. It is fantastic. Crazy peak-of-the-hour rave banger that will demolish any dancefloor. I’ve been a fan of Claude VonStroke once I heard ‘Who’s Afraid Of Detroit’ and been keeping an eye on him since. Very talented producer who comes up with some insane recordings, I highly suggest to check out his new material. You folks know the drill, if you like the tune please support the artist by buying it online! Enjoy and keep on ravin’!

d-unity

D-Unity were dubbed as Canadian version of Chub & Ceballos in 2007 by Fab Magazine. Two years later, they are going stronger than ever with no signs of slowing down. Their productions consist of dark, techy tribal vibes with pitched vocals that became their trademark.  You can view their MySpace and preview few of the tracks the boys offer. I must admit, I’ve been a fan of them since I heard them spin on the boat cruise last year. D-Unity also appeared on numerous mixes by veteran heavyweights such as Carl Cox, Paul Van Dyk and Mark Knight to name a few. Look-out for their appearances in Miami at the end of March!
