After a week of hiatus, ‘Feeling MNML’ is back stronger than ever! I dug up a lot of new material for you guys, not to speak of desktop wallpapers I designed and all the little extra stuff I put my time into… trust me, it’s only getting better from here on out!

To start things off, I will continue my bloggin’ journey with a brand new interview, courtesy of none other than Miss Nine, one of the rising and beautiful talents which are making splash in today’s music industry.

FM: Music or modeling… I know you share passion for both, but if you had to pick only one, which one would it be and why?
MN: Both ;) … I would never choose for one when I’m able to do both. And that’s working out well!

FM: You have been doing a lot of travelling during your career. Are there any places which you have not visited yet, but would like to? Why?
MN: Australia and Japan are high on my list… I’ve never been there and I would love to go. I would love to see how the people live over there and get the culture better known. And I would love to feel the vibe in the clubs there of course.

FM: What is your most memorable experience (good or bad) of your professional career so far?                                                                                                                                         MN: good: – playing  a 7 hour set @ club Sirena in Brazil. Time was flying by. Fantastic!
- being ask by Deep Dish to join them on theire worldtour in 2006
bad:
- while I’m traveling: delayed flights, missing connections, stuck @ the Airport for hours. That’s horrible!

FM: You recently did a cameo in Sharam’s ‘The One’ video, where you did a wonderful job! How did that come about? Should we look forward to more acting roles from you?
MN: Thank you! Sharam and I are good friends. I was in town when Sharam shoot his video. He asked me to act in it. It was fun to do and we had a great time on the set.Acting? Yes, keep your eyes open J. A while ago I did some commercials for television which was very fun to do too. But I focus on my music and modeling now.

FM: I know you have developed quite a few working relationships with big-name deejays and producers. Are there any in particular which you admire and respect the most? (Sort of like a mentor, person who took you under their wing and taught you things about the industry.
MN: As you already said there are lots of good DJ’s and producers out there.I respect the work of DJ’s who are traveling all over the world and working hard.Deep Dish is one of them. They took me under their wings and showed me how this industry works. DJ’s and producers like 16 Bit Lolitas and Glowfield are very talented guys. I love working with them. Also my boyfriend! Without him and his support I wouldn’t do what I’m doing now.

FM: You released “Dancefloor Sessions Vol. 2″ in mid June of this year. I must admit it is one of my favorite summer releases, it really makes you wanna groove and feel happy! What are the next big plans and projects that you have lined up?
MN: In October I’m releasing Nevertheless and Sweet Rain on 925 Digital. Those 2 tracks are on the Dancefloor Session CD.The Dutch DJ’s and Producers 16Bit Lolitas and Eelke Kleijn and the Brazilian guys Southmen & Andre Sarate did remixes. Besides all this I’m doing some fashion shoots for magazines and working on some new tracks, radioshows and my 925 Digital label.

Thank you Miss Nine for making this happen. Best of success with your upcoming releases!

The concept behind Daso’s ‘Absinthe’ is wicked. Release consists of 3 tracks which take you through 3 different stages after consuming widely popular and hallucinogenic drink. ‘Thujon’ is the opening track and it immediately sets the ambient (and mind you, dark) tone. It is a very balanced track and hardly ever lets the listener hear some sort of breakdown or build-up in the process. Laced with trancey stylings and a mean focal key effect, ‘Thujon’ can be very useful during your sets when timed right. Have fun.

Aleksandra is a Toronto deejay whose style will simply win you over. She sent me this mix to check out and I was drawn immediately. Although it is not minimal or techno right from the start (she opens with deep tech house and some soulful house), it picks up its pace once you reach the middle. Second half is more repetitive tech/techno that will remind you of something Villalobos would play. I would not recommend skipping one second of this set, it flows nicely together and takes you on a journey that ends with you feeling like you’re about to go out and party; really gets your adrenaline goin’. I enjoyed this set so much, that I would label it a must download to anyone who comes here with an open mind and a desire to experience something new with tiny touch of minimal. You won’t be dissapointed one bit, trust me on this one.

Talk about being overloaded with work… I’ve been focusing on advertising my blog, working on upcoming interviews with deejays, putting material together for a brand new mix of mine, producing, going through tons of new tracks, trying to find time to update this and to top it all off, finding a perfect balance with my personal life plus work obligations. To tell you the truth, it’s indeed paying off and I’m very happy with how things are turning out. You guys have been great supporters, and I really have to thank you all for that; you are my motivation and what keeps me coming online at 1am after a long day of work to update this damn thing while loving every second of it! So thank you!

Anyways, today’s classic post is the genre I found myself getting into lately, that old school progressive trance/techno mix, wouldn’t label it trance if I’m going by what trance is today (more melodies, more mellow, extended breakdowns) so I’m not sure how to describe it, but it’s absolutely wicked. I’ve been listening to a lot of old stuff lately too, trying to learn and understand how the music has evolved, and you don’t have to look much further than the mixed CDs that came out throughout the years. Huge difference. I am sure most of you have heard of Peace Divison from back in the day, I’m talking a long time back, and this remix of theirs is probably one of my all-time favorite tracks. Classic by all means… Underground will live forever baby!

Trancesetters – Roaches (Peace Divison Remix)

Here is one track that’s a bit older but definitely a must-have in your mp3 library. Repetitive and deep minimal at it’s finest. Out of Axel Boman’s ‘Jungle Jesus EP’, ‘Arcimboldo’ is the track which I enjoyed the most. Not to say other songs aren’t quality, but they require different kind of atmosphere to be enjoyable. This one could be great for live mixing and playing with bass itself; the simplistic usage of effects. Izvolite! ;)
