In case you were wondering why my blog has been lacking in the past few days, all I have to say is that I just experienced the best week of my life. I thought “DEMF” was quite amazing when I went to it a month ago, however, my Toronto trip exceeded all my expectations and made me realize how incredible of a party-city it is, so bad, that I am considering moving there.
The reason why I went is because a friend of mine, Anas Attia, was organizing a boat cruise with DJs on it. It was the ”first-of-a-kind” event for me. I wasn’t sure what to expect, only thing I knew for certain was the list of DJs who will appear there and that was it. Let me tell you guys, if you never been to these party gatherings before, you have to witness it for yourself. Words cannot explain the joy I felt while sailing off into the lake, carried by water and being bound by sound. It was simply magical. Incredible turn-out, amazing fucking music, tons of people, drinks, party like there is no tomorrow, what more could you ask for! By far the best thing about boat cruise was the fact that DJs were on the same level as everyone else. Everyone is real, friendly, and there to have a good time. There is no cockyness, no “I’m-better-than-you”, no feel that anyone else is above you. I don’t need to tell you how cool everybody was, I had an opportunity to meet in person my facebook pals and well-respected DJs such as Anthony Atalla (whom I joked about how short he is, haha, even tho he appears taller in his pictures, magic of photography eh
) and Neno Mileusnic.
The night before, I visited “the Guvernment“, where I saw DJ Dan and Donald Glaude absolutely tear the fucking room apart, along with Manzone & Strong, who are local Toronto DJs. Everything felt so surreal, that I still can’t convince myself it wasn’t just a dream. Partying on the rooftop until sunrise to a badass Toronto sound, in a club considered by many as one of the top nightclubs in the world. The only way I could describe ’TO sound’ would be a mix of minimal, techno, and (dirty) electro. A big shout-out to all the people I have met during my Toronto voyage, to friends that came with me and people I have met there, Masih thanks for letting me know about the boat and being a cool cat, and I can promise you I will see you guys soon. Even tho I didn’t meet you personally, I saw you on the boat and didn’t want to bug the birthday boy, Jelo what’s up! The summer just started, after all.
So I don’t leave you without anything to download, I will introduce you to the sound of Toronto and one of the meanest DJs you will ever hear live, Manzone & Strong.
